1. Service Description
LT Express provides shipping services for Balikbayan boxes from the UK to the Philippines. Our goal is to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery of your packages.
2. Booking and Payment
Booking: Customers must book their shipments through our website or customer service. A unique tracking number will be assigned to each shipment.
Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking.
3. Packaging Guidelines
Weight Limit: Each Balikbayan box is unlimited but fair weight. Health and safety of our staff matters. They have every right to refuse pick up of your boxes if they think that it is unsafe to do so..
Size Limit: The maximum dimensions for each box should not exceed our standard size dimensions for Grande, Medio, Venti and Sopra as clearly stated on booking form.
Packaging: Boxes must be securely packed to ensure the safety of contents during transport.
4. Items Not Allowed
The following items are strictly prohibited from being shipped in Balikbayan boxes:
4.1. Perishable Goods:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Dairy products
- Meat and seafood
- Baked goods that can spoil
4.2. Hazardous Materials:
- Flammable items (e.g., gasoline, lighter fluid)
- Explosive materials (e.g., fireworks, ammunition)
- Toxic substances (e.g., pesticides, certain chemicals)
- Batteries (especially lithium-ion batteries)
4.3. Illegal Items:
- Counterfeit goods (e.g., fake designer items)
- Narcotics and illegal drugs
- Weapons and firearms
- Stolen property
4.4. Live Animals:
- Any live animals, including insects and fish
4.5. Valuable Items:
- Cash and currency
- Jewelry and valuable collectibles
- Electronics
4.6. Commercial Quantity:
- Items that are sent in quantities that suggest they are for resale or commercial purposes (e.g., multiple identical items) are typically restricted. The items should be for personal use only
4.7. Fragile Items:
- Glass items (e.g., bottles, dishes, picture frames)
- Ceramics and porcelain items (e.g., figurines, dishes).
- Mirrors and other breakable items that require special handling.
4.8. Cultural Artifacts:
- Items that may be considered cultural heritage or artifacts, which may require special permits for export.
4.9. Items with Restrictions:
- Any item that is restricted or prohibited under Philippine law or the laws of the country of origin.
4.10. Liquids. All kinds of liquids are not allowed.
4.11. Machineries whether commercial machineries or any car parts.
5. Customs and Duties
Customs Clearance: Customers are responsible for ensuring that their shipments comply with all customs regulations and requirements. LT Express will assist with customs clearance and applicable duties and taxes but is not liable for any delays or issues arising from customs due to customers misdeclarations.
6. Liability and Claims
6.1. Limitation of Liability: LT Express assumes liability for loss, damage, or theft of Balikbayan boxes only under the following conditions:
6.2. Maximum Claims Payment: In the event that LT Express is found liable for loss or damage to a Balikbayan box, the maximum compensation payable shall not exceed *$150* per box. This amount is intended to cover only the loss or damage incurred and is not reflective of the total value of the items shipped.
6.3. Exclusions from Liability:
LT Express shall not be liable for:
- Loss or damage resulting from improper packaging or labeling of the Balikbayan box.
- Items that are prohibited or restricted under applicable laws and regulations.
- Loss or damage due to natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, or other events beyond our control.
- Items that are inherently fragile or susceptible to damage (e.g., glass, ceramics, electronics) *4.
7. Acceptance of Terms:
By using LT Express for the shipment of Balikbayan boxes, the sender acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined in this Liability and Claims Statement. The sender further understands that the maximum liability of LT Express is limited to *$150* per box, regardless of the actual value of the contents.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of United Kingdom
9. Amendments
LT Express reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any significant changes via email or through our website.
